Let's Party With Paperless

Hands up for those who do like invitation cards?

If you are anything like me, you would still have all the invitation cards to birthday parties and weddings you have ever visited. :)

But nowadays it happens less and less often that we send/receive invitation cards. :(
It might be because we live in a digital world or it might be because we are all in stress and hustle all the time. Another reason for quick online invitations might be environmental consciousness.

But we should pay more attention to bithdays, dinner parties, etc., where we can meet our loved ones. Sending out beautiful invitation cards - in my opinion - is a sign of love and respect to the event and to the ones invited.
Isn't it a better feeling to receive a nice, personalized card than receiving a simple reminder on social media? Of course, hand-written invitation cards are the most personal ones. But what if your handwriting is not so nice to look at? And moreover, who has the time for writing them one by one?

Recently I have found the solution to this problem. I am thrilled to introduce you to the services of PAPERLESS POST.  The company was launched  to prove that communication could be personal and well-designed. They offer both paper and 'paperless' services depending on your preference.
And while digital invitations are relatively new, more and more people in the US and around the world have started to use them for  baby showers, birthdays, holidays, and even weddings. Paperless' site is really easy to use and offers beautiful designs for the clueless (you can browse designers hereand an opportunity to upload personal designs for the more creative ones.

For today I brought you three samples of invitation cards I have sent out recently with the help of  Paperless:

And now I can't wait to desing the invitation card to my son's 6-month-'birthday' party. :)

How about you? Do you use paper invitations or do you prefer to use any apps or online invitations when organizing a party?

Thanks for reading.

Wedding Style

At the beginning of the wedding season we can often read blog posts and magazine articles about what to wear to different types of weddings. I find them  really helpful and mostly like the ideas and dresses recommended but often feel that in this respect men's fashion is a bit neglected. You may say it is because they have to wear dark suits and that's it. But what if they are invited to several weddings in the same season?
If it is a No-No for women to wear the same dress, is it also a No-No for men to wear the same suit or tuxedo?  Or what if the two weddings are soon after each other and the cleaner is on holiday? Shall the man on our side buy another suit even if he does not often wear suits? Well, these questions are not easy to answer and the answers definitely depend on his wallet, too.

But how about a nice alternative?  With tuxedo and suit rental by The Black Tux your partner can rent suits and tuxedos intead of buying them. He saves money and space in his wardrobe while he attends the wedding in a super stylish suit. It is definitely a win-win situation.

And the best part is the they offer a free 48-hour home-try-on possibility.

Another plus point is that rental is more environmentally-friendly than buying. :)

Do you find it interesting?  Here is a little style guide for you from The Black Tux:

Breastfeeding

I was always sure I wanted to breastfeed my baby. Even before I got pregnant. There was no question about it, and it seemed so natural and easy.

Well, it wasn't that easy in the first few weeks so I want to share my experiences with you.
They might help you in the future or you  may just feel revealed that you are not the only one feeling that way. :)

While I was pregnant one of my collegues used to tell me how wonderful it felt to breastfeed your baby and how much she enjoyed it with her children, so I was really looking forward to breastfeeding.

And then the shock came: My baby just could not latch on my nipple. I asked for help by the nurses at the hospital but we were not really successful.  For this reason I was a bit worried when we came home. Luckily, the district nurse visited us a few hours after we arrived home and she said "Of course, he can latch on" and "grabbed" the baby's head and my breast and connected them. :) I was really happy but then the next shock came. It wasn't a wonderful feeling. In contrary, it was painful.

So  in the first few weeks I kept saying the my collegue was lying and breastfeeding is an awful feeling but after about 7-8 weeks (I know, it is a very-very long time)  I started to feel joy and pride that I can breastfeed my baby.
However, I still felt some pain. I read a lot about this problem and decided to visit a specialist who treats babies with tight muscles. It turned out that my son's muscles in the neck were very tight and that is why I felt pain.
After only one session with her, breastfeeding wasn't painful at all anymore. :)

I wouldn't call myself an expert but these tips might be helpful for you:

- Find the right positure.
In the first few weeks or even months it might take long for your baby to eat. Try several positures and find the one that is best for your back, otherwise you will feel really bad after each feeding session and we all know that an unhappy mommy means an unhappy baby.

- Try several types of breastfeeding pillows.
I know you acnnot take 10 typs home and bring back the 9 types you did not like but I am sure some friends have breastfeeding pillows and they might be different types. Ask them about their opinions. They might even allow you make a "sit and try".

- Buy a good nursing bra.
It needs to hold the extra weight and it must be easy to use. It is not about the looks this time.

- It is not OK if it still causes pain after 4-6 weeks. Visit a lactation specialist.

- And at last but not least, believe in yourself and your baby. Don't let anyone unsettle you. One of my aunts tried to convince me that I had no milk and my baby was starving. I just asked: If he is starving, how comes that he weighs 230 g more than at birth? Do you think he sneaks out at night and eats sandwiches? She could not answer and never mentioned it again.

I hope you find my article helpful. Feel free to ask me if you have any questions.

Dream Closet

Hello Everyone!

For today I brought you a mood board as inspiration.
Everybody has dreams they would love to have fulfilled. Those who have been following my blog for a longer time may know that my dream is a walk-in closet. Even though moving into the new house seems pretty far away I was really happy that I was introduced to the personal loan services of earnest which made me think of and start to plan my dream walk-in closet once again.

So here are the most essential pieces to my dream walk-in closet:

Dream Closet
I know that such a closet can be quite costy but the inner Carrie Bradshaw in us needs it bad. :)

So here are 4 tips to make it wonderful:

1., Use neutral colours: It is easier to make slight changes later on when you get bored with the design.

2., Buy strong hangers: May your closet look as wonderful as it can, you will not feel good if your hangers break every other day.

3., Get yourself the perfect mirror: It needs to be perfect quality, of course, and be big enough to see your whole outfit.

4., Lights: One of the most crucial things when getting ready. Without perfect lightning you might only find you do not like something about your look when getting out of the house. And noone likes such 'surprises'.

How about you? What would you do if you were granted  an extra $10,000 to your budget?
Your comments are highly appreciated.

5 Tips: What To Bring To The Hospital When Giving Birth

I would like to give you some tips about what to bring to the labour room. I hope you will find my tips helpful.

1., Water: Choose a bottle which is easy to open and does not have a big mouth. Believe me, even if it sounds ridiculous now, you will not have the energy to focus on drinking from a bottle with an "uncomfortable" bottle mouth. :)

2., Socks: It can be so cold in labour rooms. :(

3., Mineral water spray: I used one by Uriage but any label will do, I guess. Yes, sometimes you will feel cold, in other moments you will experience a heat wave. Use it for your face and arms, it will help a lot.

4.,  Dextrose: Giving birth is not easy, you will need some extra boost of energy.

5., Geranium muscatel oil: Put some drops on a hanky. It will help you to relax.

How about you? What did/would you bring?

Thanks for stopping by.

Giving Birth

First of all, sorry for not writing this post earlier. The main reason why I was hesiant to publish my birth story was that giving birth was not an elevating experience for me.
Many women say that this expeience was one of the most beautiful ones in their lives but, unfortunatly, I cannot relate.

As my pregnancy was quite easy with no morning sickness or other problems, I hoped that giving birth would also be "easy" for me. Of course , I knew that I will feel pain but did not know what to expect.

Firt of all, I gave birth 10 days after my due date. In the first 7 days after my due date I wasn't really worried or afraid. I did my househld chores, worked in the garden, etc. But after 7 days my doctor decided that I had to go to hospital to do some tests and I had to stay "for safety's sake".

Well, I hated it. There were several ladies who I knew from my preggo yoga class whose due dates were 2-3 weeks later but came in and gave birth in a few hours. I felt envious (and thought I was a really bad person).

But after 2 days in hospital, I started to feel labour pain. I knew they were labour pain but as they did not come as regularly as in the "Big Book Of Childbirth", the doctors said that they were only predictive cramps. It went on for 22 hours like that but after 22  hours (no sleep) I went to one of the maternity nurses on due  and told her that I was sure that I would give birth soon and would not return to my room without a baby. Quite harsh, I know. :)

All in all, those 32 hours were really difficult and sometimes I felt like a failure that I cannot even present regular camps but when I saw my son for the first time I experienced such peace, grace and joy I had never experienced before.

I hope that my story will not scare you, ladies before your due dates. I hope it will help you to know that in the end everything will be ok and you will be as happy as never before.

Tested: Garnier Skin Active Hydra Bomb

For today I brought you my opinion about Garnier's skin active hydra bomb day cream, night cream and water cream moisturizer. I got these products from my sister and I was really happy that I could use them together.

The night cream and the water cream moisturizer come in gel form, while the day cream comes in a creamy form. The odour is really smooth and nice in all cases, not too intensive so even if you do not like pommagranate, the odour will not be disturbing.

I like both the gel and the cream form, non of them leaves my skin greasy and they are absorbed really quickly. Therefore I also recommend the day cream under your make-up.

My skin is not too dry so I do not need that much of moistrizing in the night. However, I think for someone with dry skin this product might not be enough for their evening routine.

I would recommend the water cream moisturizer for someone with dehydrated skin. I do not use it every day, rather on days when I feel I need some extra hydration. As for the effect, I always feel immediately that my skin is more hydrated and the effect lasts quite long.

All in all, I like these products but my sister who has really sensitive eyes cannot us them because she starts weeping when putting them on her face.

How about you? Have you ever tried any of these products? What are your experiences?

Thans for stopping by.
